Custom Mirror Ball Christmas Tree Project in Singapore
This large Christmas tree project was created for a modern commercial space in Singapore. The client wanted a distinctive festive centerpiece that could work naturally with the atrium’s glass architecture, daylight and contemporary interior environment.
The project also needed to support multi-angle viewing throughout the open atrium while maintaining a strong visual presence during both daytime and evening display.
Based on the approved direction, the design was developed around “Futuristic Light and Reflection.” High-gloss mirror spheres, iridescent optical materials, transparent decorative elements and layered geometric forms were combined to create the final sculptural Christmas tree.
Project Requirements
The client wanted the Christmas installation to have a clear visual identity within the large commercial atrium.
- Strong contemporary design language
- Large-scale proportions suitable for a high atrium
- Complete visual treatment from multiple directions
- Strong daytime and evening appearance
- Materials suitable for long seasonal display
- Detailed surfaces suitable for photography
- A modern interpretation of recognizable Christmas elements
Mirror surfaces, iridescent materials and geometric forms became the main visual elements of the final design.
Project Video
The video shows the completed Christmas tree within the commercial atrium and gives a clearer view of the scale, reflective surfaces and surrounding environment.
Futuristic Light and Reflection
The visual concept of this Singapore project centered on light, reflection and changing color.
Large numbers of high-gloss silver mirror spheres were arranged across the tree structure in different sizes. Larger spheres established the main volume of the tree, while medium and smaller spheres filled the surrounding layers and created greater depth.
The reflective surfaces capture the architecture, glass, lighting and movement around the atrium. Each sphere reflects the space from a slightly different angle, producing hundreds of individual images across the surface of the tree.
From a distance, the spheres come together as one complete Christmas tree silhouette. At closer range, the individual reflections and material details become much more visible.
The main design features include:
- High-gloss mirror spheres reflecting surrounding light and architecture
- Iridescent materials producing changing multicolor effects
- Different sphere sizes creating layered sculptural depth
- Geometric decorative elements adding sharper forms and reflections
- Visual integration with the tall glass atrium
- Full decorative coverage for 360-degree viewing
Iridescent Materials and Layered Details
Iridescent and transparent decorative elements were distributed between the silver mirror spheres.
Depending on the viewing angle and incoming light, the iridescent surfaces shift through blue, violet, pink and pale gold tones. These changing colors break up the large silver surfaces and introduce additional movement across the tree.
Transparent elements bring a lighter visual quality to the composition, while faceted geometric decorations create sharper reflections and more concentrated highlights.
Mirror, transparent, iridescent and geometric surfaces appear together throughout the tree, giving the installation more detail when viewed at close range while maintaining a clean sculptural form from farther away.
Gold Christmas Details
A large gold star was installed at the top of the tree, creating a strong focal point above the predominantly silver composition.
Gold decorative elements were also introduced through the body and lower sections of the installation.
Silver, transparent, iridescent and gold became the main color and material palette for the project. The gold star keeps the Christmas identity immediately recognizable while fitting naturally with the modern mirror-based design.
During the day, natural light reveals the reflective and iridescent surfaces clearly. In the evening, the atrium lighting creates a different set of highlights across the same materials.
360° Display Inside the Open Atrium
The Christmas tree stands inside an open commercial atrium where it can be viewed from the ground floor, surrounding walkways and upper levels.
The installation therefore has no single decorative front. Mirror spheres, iridescent elements and geometric details continue around the entire structure.
At ground level, visitors can see the different sphere sizes and surface details at close range. From across the atrium, the tree maintains a strong overall silhouette. Looking down from an upper floor reveals another composition formed by the star, layered sphere arrangement and lower decorations.
The reflective materials also bring the surrounding environment into the installation. People, glass surfaces, architectural lines and lighting appear across different spheres as visitors move through the space.
Structural Development, Surface Protection and Installation
The tall atrium and multi-layered sphere arrangement required careful structural development before the final installation.
High-Atrium Structural Development
The tree structure was developed around the overall load, connection points and layered decorative arrangement. Multiple fixing points were used to keep the large installation stable while maintaining the required external shape.
Mirror-Surface Protection
High-gloss mirror surfaces can show scratches, dents and distortion very easily. Protective handling and surface protection were maintained through fabrication, packing, transport and installation to preserve the final reflective finish.
Daylight and Optical Material Testing
The optical materials were evaluated under strong daylight to check reflection behavior and color balance. This helped maintain the intended appearance from daytime through evening display.
Modular Assembly
Large components were prepared in modular sections for transportation and site installation. The structure and decorative layers were then assembled and adjusted on site according to the confirmed arrangement.
Completed Christmas Tree in the Singapore Atrium
After installation, mirror reflections and iridescent color shifts covered the entire tree.
The surrounding atrium became part of the visual effect. Glass, lighting, architectural details and people appeared across the mirror surfaces, while the iridescent materials changed color as the viewing angle moved.
This gives the installation a strong photographic quality from multiple positions around the atrium. Close-up views reveal the sphere surfaces and geometric details, while wider views show the full sculptural Christmas tree within the surrounding commercial space.
Natural daylight creates one set of reflections during the day. Interior lighting produces another visual effect after dark, giving the same installation a noticeably different appearance throughout the day.
From Design Development to Overseas Installation
The Singapore project involved more than the fabrication of the visible Christmas tree components.
Once the design was confirmed, the project continued through structural development, material preparation, surface protection, modular packing, international transportation and installation coordination.
Structural Development
The approved visual concept was translated into a practical structure, including connection details, component positioning and installation planning.
Material Preparation
Mirror spheres, optical surfaces and decorative materials were prepared according to the confirmed color, finish and arrangement required for the final tree.
Modular Packing and International Transport
Large sections were divided into transportable modules. Mirror and decorative surfaces were protected during packing before international shipment to the project location.
On-Site Coordination
Installation sequencing, equipment positioning and working areas were coordinated around the commercial venue so the individual modules could be assembled and adjusted into the final tree structure.
Custom Mirror Ball Christmas Trees
The Singapore project used a silver mirror and iridescent theme, while the same type of Christmas tree can be redesigned for different commercial spaces and project concepts.
Clients can provide venue photographs, installation dimensions, architectural drawings, renderings or reference designs. The structure, materials and decorative arrangement can then be developed around the confirmed project requirements.
Custom Christmas Tree Projects by Holilite
This Singapore project developed a large Christmas tree around light, reflection and space.
Silver mirror spheres reflect the surrounding atrium, iridescent materials change with the viewing angle, layered geometric elements add sculptural depth, and the gold star completes the Christmas identity.
Holilite develops custom large Christmas trees and festive installations for shopping malls, hotels, attractions, theme parks and other large public or commercial spaces. Project dimensions, materials, colors and decorative combinations can be developed according to the client’s confirmed design requirements.
