How We Produced a Large Statue of Liberty Sculpture for Outdoor Projects
The Statue of Liberty is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, originally located in New York, USA. It represents freedom and has become a global cultural symbol widely used in tourism, commercial displays, and themed installations.
Because of its strong visual identity, Statue of Liberty replicas are often used in theme parks, city landmarks, exhibitions, and large-scale decorative projects. This also makes it a popular choice for custom outdoor sculpture production.
From Steel Frame to Full-Scale Statue
This Statue of Liberty project was completed in our factory as a custom outdoor sculpture order.
We started from the internal steel structure. Based on the final height and proportions, we built the full frame first to make sure the statue could stand stable and keep correct shape during production and installation.
Each section was welded and reinforced on site. For large sculptures like this, we control the structure from the beginning to avoid deformation during later stages.
Shaping the Structure and Controlling Details
After the steel frame was finished, we moved to shaping.
We built the structure layer by layer, forming the body, clothing folds, and main silhouette. At this stage, we focus on keeping correct proportions and clear lines instead of rushing speed.
The overall shape is fixed early, then refined gradually. This helps us avoid large corrections later and keeps the final result clean and consistent.
Surface Finishing and Color Treatment
Once the shape was completed, we moved to surface finishing.
We smoothed the surface and prepared it for painting. For this project, we used a green patina-style color to match the classic Statue of Liberty appearance.
The color is applied in multiple layers to control depth and consistency, rather than a single coating. This gives the final surface a more natural and realistic look.
Sectional Production and On-Site Assembly
For large outdoor sculptures, we do not transport them as a single piece.
We divide the statue into sections, complete fabrication in the factory, and then assemble it on site. This makes transportation safer and more efficient.
During installation, we reconnect the structure, adjust alignment, and check stability to ensure the final structure is secure and visually correct.
