How We Produced a Large Statue of Liberty Sculpture for Outdoor Projects
The Statue of Liberty is one of the world’s most recognizable landmarks. Located in New York, USA, it represents freedom and has become a global cultural symbol used in tourism, commercial displays, and themed installations.
Its distinctive shape also makes Statue of Liberty replicas a popular choice for theme parks, city attractions, exhibitions, and large decorative projects. This project shows how we produced a custom outdoor Statue of Liberty sculpture from the internal frame to the finished surface.

From Steel Frame to Full-Scale Statue
This Statue of Liberty project was produced in our factory as a custom outdoor sculpture.
Production began with a reinforced internal steel frame. The frame was built according to the approved height and proportions, providing stable support while maintaining the intended shape throughout production, transport, and installation.
Each section was welded and reinforced in the factory before the exterior was formed. Depending on the project design, our sculptures can be produced in different sizes, from medium-sized display pieces to large landmark-scale installations.
The internal steel frame supports the sculpture’s height, weight distribution, and overall stability throughout production and installation.
The shaped fiberglass exterior provides a detailed surface that can be finished and painted for long-term decorative use.
Shaping the Structure and Controlling Details
Once the steel frame was complete, the exterior shaping process began.
The body, clothing folds, torch, crown, and main silhouette were formed gradually around the internal structure. At this stage, we focused on maintaining accurate proportions, recognizable features, and clean lines throughout the sculpture.
The main shape was established first and then refined section by section. This approach reduced the need for major corrections and helped maintain a consistent appearance across the completed sculpture.
Surface Finishing and Outdoor Treatment
After shaping was completed, the exterior surface was smoothed and prepared for finishing.
The fiberglass surface received the necessary preparation before the final color was applied. For this project, we used a green patina-style finish to reproduce the classic appearance of the Statue of Liberty.
Weather-resistant primer, exterior paint, and multiple color layers were applied to improve surface consistency and outdoor durability. The layered finish also created a more natural sense of depth than a single flat coating.

Sectional Production, Packing, and On-Site Assembly
Large outdoor sculptures are generally produced and transported in separate sections.
For this project, the main parts were completed in the factory and prepared for container transport. Each section was protected according to its shape and surface requirements to reduce movement and surface damage during handling and shipping.
After arriving at the project site, the sections can be reconnected, aligned, and secured according to the installation plan. Sectional production makes loading, transport, unloading, and final assembly more manageable for large sculptures.
Efficient Workflow for Large Sculpture Projects
The project followed a clear production sequence:
Structure
Build and reinforce the internal steel frame according to the approved shape and proportions.
Shaping
Form the body, outline, clothing folds, and recognizable visual details section by section.
Finishing
Smooth the fiberglass surface and apply outdoor primer, paint, and layered color treatment.
Assembly
Pack and transport the sculpture in sections before completing alignment and assembly on site.
Steel fabrication, exterior shaping, surface preparation, and finishing were coordinated across different production stages. This kept the project moving steadily while allowing each section to be checked before packing.
